Should Pharma Invest in Public Health?

I’m going back up to Boston next weekend, the town of my graduate school alma mater Boston University School of Public Health. I was never the best public health role model - being a fan of McDonald’s and die-hard bacon lover - but my New England experience turned out highly successful. Hence, here is an article about two things that don’t traditionally go together, but have potential.

Articles like this bring me back to my public health roots. How much are conditions inherent, versus brought on by environmental changes, versus simply created by the medicalization of social ills?
